There are 9 essential amino acids (meaning the body cannot make them and needs to get them from food). If you’re not getting it from sources that contain all 9 (we call those “complete proteins”) you need to combine the from other sources: Whole grains, Legumes, Nuts, Seeds, Corn, Whole soy, Spirulina, Buckwheat, Nutritional Yeast. Eating a variety of these foods will help ensure you’re getting the amino acids you need.

Hearts, livers, and kidneys are rich in B vitamins including B12, folate, and riboflavin, Vitamin D, iron, protein and coQ10. It’s like eating a multivitamin with every serving. Meat sauces and stews can be a great way to ease in.
